Making Strides Against Breast Cancer
Since our mammography capabilities are so extensive, it is only natural that we have a very active affiliation with the Making Strides for Breast Cancer walk and fundraising events. We have an enthusiastic group of staff and volunteers who each year increase their level of support. In 2012, in addition to fielding a large team of participants in the Making Strides walk in Manchester, New Hampshire, we organized the first annual “See Doc Run” event that was featured on the WMUR-TV 9 news. The event attracted community attention as a dozen doctors and other medical professionals from Overlook Medical Park in Derry ran a series of four 50-yard dashes in high heels—all for the cause of raising money for the American Cancer Society’s fight against breast cancer. Celebrity runner, and WMUR-TV news anchor Sean McDonald joined the runners in leopard heels and pink feather boa—all of them “caring enough to wear pink.”
